Description

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, often called the “Place of Darkness” due to its thick canopy, covers over 320 square kilometers of lush, mountainous rainforest in southwestern Uganda. This ancient forest is one of Africa’s most biologically diverse areas, harboring over 350 tree species, 120 species of mammals, and more than 350 bird species.

The forest is most famous for its population of mountain gorillas, one of the most endangered species on Earth. Visitors can join guided trekking expeditions to observe gorilla families, an unforgettable experience that allows you to witness their social behaviors, playful interactions, and family bonds up close.
