Volcanoes National Park is home to several habituated gorilla families, and each trek brings a unique experience. You’ll spend one unforgettable hour with the gorillas during each visit, observing their behaviors, interactions, and daily routines under the guidance of expert rangers. Between treks, you will relax at a comfortable lodge and may opt for cultural experiences such as visiting the Iby’iWacu cultural village, exploring Musanze town, or enjoying nature walks. This short but powerful adventure provides one of the most intimate wildlife encounters in the world.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes national park.
Upon arrival at Kigali international airport, you will be met and greeted by your English-speaking guide. He will briefly take you through your trip plan and then to Volcanoes national park. If time allows, you will visit you visit the Ellen DE generous by Dian Fossey Museum for a virtual gorilla trek.

Meal Plan: Dinner.
Day 2: First gorilla trek and Ibwiwachu cultural tour
On this day, you will have a great time meeting with the mountain gorillas in Volcanoes national park! After a tasty breakfast, you guide will pick you from the lodge. You will head for briefing by ranger guides at 7:30 and at 8:30am with packed lunch. You will start the trek to hunt for the gorillas and after finding them you will spend with them a maximum of 1 hour. This walk can take 4-5 hours depending on where you meet the gorillas. The park is steep; it is a real hiking and being
physically fit is recommended. After trekking, you will be driven to Ibwiwachu community, the gorilla guidance community for participation in the traditional Rwanda through traditional; dances, poems, dressing codes among others.

Day 3: Second gorilla trek and boat ride along the twin lakes
On this day, you will have a great time meeting with the mountain gorillas in Volcanoes national park! After a tasty breakfast, you guide will pick you from the lodge. You will head for briefing by ranger guides at 7:30 and at 8:30am with packed lunch. Day 4: Golden Monkey trekking & transfer to Kigali
This will take us through the edges of the forest via potato fields and the briefing will be conducted in the same place where the usual Kinigi park office is located this means the trekking will take us 3-4 hours after the trekking, we shall return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will transfer back to Kigali for your flight back home.
