The 4 Days Double Gorilla Trek in Uganda & Rwanda offers a rare and powerful primate experience by combining gorilla encounters in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (Uganda) and Volcanoes National Park (Rwanda). This cross-border adventure allows you to track two different gorilla families in two unique habitats each with its own landscapes, vegetation, and behaviors. The journey begins in either Kigali or Entebbe, followed by a scenic drive through rolling hills, local villages, and lush forests. Your first trek takes place in the deep rainforest of Bwindi, known for its thick vegetation and dramatic terrain, offering a true jungle adventure. Afterward, you continue to Rwanda via the Cyanika or Gatuna border for your second trek in Volcanoes National Park, famous for its open bamboo zones and easier viewing conditions. Both treks include an unforgettable hour with the mountain gorillas as they feed, play, and interact in their natural habitat. This short yet action-packed itinerary offers two premium gorilla encounters in just four days.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi national park
Upon arrival, you will be met and greeted by your guide. He will transfer you to Bwindi gorilla national park. Upon arrival, you will check-in at the at the lodge for relaxation and overnight stay.
Accommodation: Ichumbi gorilla lodge (Midrange)/ Gorilla hills eco lodge (Budget)
Meal plan: Full board
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and transfer to volcanoes national park
Well prepared with your packed lunch, cameras, water, rain jackets, long pair of trouser and hiking boots and other gear, you will assemble for briefing time at 8:00 am, find the rangers that will inform you about gorilla tracking the great adventure and experience! The time taken to encounter these peaceful primates is impulsive for it may take 1-5 hours.
Nevertheless, on encounter, one may be forced to say, it is stunning!!!! After the adventure certificate rewards will be successful given out every trekker. After, the trek, you will cross the border for the transfer to Volcanoes national park.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking and Ibwiwachu cultural tour
On this day, you will have a great time meeting with the mountain gorillas in Volcanoes national park! After a tasty breakfast, you guide will pick you from the lodge. You will head for briefing by ranger guides at 7:30 and at 8:30am with packed lunch. You will start the trek to hunt for the gorillas and after finding them you will spend with them a maximum of 1 hour. This walk can take 4-5 hours depending on where you meet the gorillas. The park is steep; it is a real hiking and being
physically fit is recommended. After trekking, you will be driven to Ibwiwachu community, the gorilla guidance community for participation in the traditional Rwanda through traditional; dances, poems, dressing codes among others.

Day 4: Golden Monkey trekking & transfer to Kigali
This will take us through the edges of the forest via potato fields and the briefing will be conducted in the same place where the usual Kinigi park office is located this means the trekking will take us 3-4 hours after the trekking, we shall return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will transfer back to Kigali for your flight back home.
